summer campaign

For Merrell we shot a 31-second campaign film. It opens with the line «hiking is everywhere.» and swaps the mountain trail for the city: residential streets, a park between tower blocks, a playground.

Three young people sit on a wooden bench with coffee cups in front of a small hut, walk across asphalt and concrete slabs, lean against ping pong tables and climb through the rope net of a wooden play tower. The camera often drops to shoe height and follows light-coloured Merrell shoes under wide jeans, walking, jumping onto a ledge, landing on concrete.

The light is soft and overcast, the colours muted, the tone relaxed and everyday. Directed by Maxime Burri, with Arno Kost as director of photography.
